Structure (

The language of teaching - Georgian

The program consists of mandatory and elective courses. The mandatory courses are 60 credits in total, elective subjects - 20 credits, 10 credits  for  Abstract in specialty (Appendix 4), 30 credits - Master's thesis (Appendix 5). 10 credits from elective subjects are mandatory elective subjects and 10 credits can be selected from the  programs "computer science" and/or  "Information Systems",

Program Objectives

The master's program aims to provide a knowledge in the essential components of modern IT technologies (databases, networks and communication systems, web-systems, information security) and develop research skills in this field along with other skills in various fields of human activity.
Effective use of information technologies for every human activity is an important condition for success in the field. Thus the Master of Science should possess the theoretical knowledge along with practical  and research skills in areas that represent the main pillars of information technology, such as:• Databases;
• Computer networks and communications;
• Web-oriented programming;
• Information security and protection.
Information technologies can be considered as one of the most demanded fields.  The Master's Program is based on the Curriculum Guidelines for Undergraduate Degree Programs in Information Technology, developed by
• The Association for Computer Machinery (ACM, http://www.acn.org), 
• The Association for Information Systems (AIS),
• The Computer Society (IEEE-CS, http://computer.org).

Learning Outcomes

Master of Information Technology will beable to 

1)  hold a leading position in implementing any of the IT technologies and in the IT Technologies of different institutions.

2)  select relevant IT technologies (both at theoretical and practical level) for the decision making, solution finding and implementation.

The master will acquire:

·  comprehensive knowledge about both fundamental and comparative special algorithms;

·  programming skills for modern technologies;

·  communication, interpersonal and team-working skills;

·  the ability of analytical and critical thinking, including creative approach and respect of ethical values;

·  specific skills for successful carrier-building.

Sectoral competencies, knowledge and understanding

·  Deep knowledge of computer sciences;

·  Knowledge of the infrastructure of computer sciences;

·  Knowledge of analytical, modeling and implementation methods;

·  Knowledge of the trends of the development of computer sciences;

Sectoral competencies, Ability to use knowledge in practical situations

·  Ability to analyze specific problems and create relevant algorithms using theoretical methods of computer sciences.

·  The ability to use information technology to solve real objectives, develop and realize the project;

·  Ability to work independently and in Team; 

·  Protect professional ethical standards;

·  Contribute to the establishment of new values.
